Our Jazz Nights
are attracting more and more famous Indonesian
and Expat jazz musicians each week as well as
new young talent, which often results in fantastic
jam sessions. |

We had the real
pleasure of a superb guest performance by Vietnam
based band Curtis King last Wednesday. They later
played 2 shows at JakJazz and rocked the house
there too. Great band and hopefully back next
year! Curtis? Erik? |

Stefan Thiele that night were Dutch Jazz talent
Louis D (saxophone) ,Kevin (USA and best trumpeter
in Indonesia?) and (not in the picture) Tala

JakJazz festival last weekend!

The quiz consists of 5 rounds of different
categories with 10 questions per round. A maximum
of 4 players per team are allowed. Starts at 8pm!

We’re going to spoil you
with and The Beatles
and The Bee Gees. I
don’t think these 2 superbands have ever shared one
stage before and so we could speak of a rather unique
event that nobody should miss!!
The Beatles play over 60!!! of their greatest tunes
including Come Together, Twist and Shout, Penny Lane,
Fool on the Hill, Day in the Life, Yesterday, Let it be
and of course your favorite Beatles classic!!
They don’t only sound like the Beatles; they also look
like them (check out all dressed up Benny ‘Ringo’ and
Awan ‘Paul’ with wig!). Guaranteed a fun night with lots
of dancing!!

Of the Bee Gees I don’t
know much yet, except that they’re coming… I just hope
you’re as curious to see what they’re like as I am.
Somehow I have the feeling it’s going to be an

Sing and Dance along with ‘Flying Syrup’ the only
true British Rock and Pop Band in Jakarta!!
This
band has been around for the past three years and
has played in all major clubs and cafes in town.
For the past two years Flying Syrup has been the
home band at Dragonfly. Flying Syrup's repertoire
is vast and goes from the early stages of British
Pop with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to the
newest UK Rock bands such as
Kaiser Chiefs,
Keane,
Coldplay,
Arctic Monkeys,
Oasis,
Blur and
the Verve,
without forgetting the ones from the 80ies like
The Police,
Level 42, The Cure,
Phil Collins,
Duran-Duran and many others. So feel
free to pick a group, a time, a song, and Flying
Syrup will get you there...!"
